| What Others Are Saying |
I just wanted to let you know how
pleased I am with using your company for our tradeshow shipping
needs. I’ve been using you for a number of years and have never
had a problem with your services or my contact, Ingrid Main.
Recently, I had a booth staff person make a mistake and mark
another shipper other than ELITeXPO on outbound freight; I had
already made arrangements with your company and I had a tight
window to get it across the country. Needless to say when
Ingrid called and said our shipment wasn’t there to be picked
up, I freaked out, I don’t know the first thing about shipping
and thought I was out of luck for my next show. Ingrid helped
me the whole way through, she probably could have easily told me
that I was on my own, because our stuff was with a different
shipper, but she tracked it down for me, called the other
shippers to find my stuff and helped me change another mistake
the staff person made in order for my shipment to get across the
country on time.
I appreciate all the time she took to help
me, she kept me informed every step of the way and told me
exactly what I needed to do, I believe if it wasn’t for her I
would have never been able to do what she did on any scale. We
are just a small company, only doing four shows a year, but I
felt like I got the service I needed regardless of my size. I
am so pleased with the service I’ve received from ELITeXPO, in
the past and concerning the most recent issue.
Thank you,
Elizabeth King

Crates,
Cases & Loose Skids
Proper &
Improper Packaging
|
Crated freight
means it is packaged inside a wooden
crate. A crate is a large container,
often made of wood, often used to
transport large, heavy or awkward items.
A crate has a self-supporting structure,
with or without sheathing. For a
container to be a crate, all six of its
sides must be put in place to result in
the rated strength of the container.

Uncrated freight is loose cargo which
can be properly packaged or improperly
packaged. It just means it is not inside
a crate. Properly packaged materials can
be contained inside of fiber cases or
cartons depending on the structural
needs for protecting the exhibit
materials. Loose freight is usually
shipped on skids or pallets. A skid can
be made from wood or plastic and is
usually around 42"x48"x6". Tradeshow
venues require freight to either be
crated or on a skid for easy offloading.
Improper packaging is when the
exhibit materials are not contained
inside of any packaging materials
such as cartons, cases or crates or
are packaged insufficiently such as
chairs or tables just shrink-wrapped
to a skid. The materials are left
exposed and are subject to damage in
transit.
