ALWAYS complete a Bill of Lading from the General
Service Contractor at the show site.
The
purpose of this document is to get a receipt that the GSC has control of
your freight and instructions on what to do with it. You should keep
accurate records of how many crates you will be shipping, as well as
their actual weight. Keep in mind the GSC is not responsible for any
losses that occur until the freight reaches your carrier's truck. This
means you need to take the responsibility to watch the cartons until
they are loaded. Be sure to designate your carrier, or else the GSC will
use the show's carrier, meaning your shipment will
arrive "collect" and you must pay up before receiving
your materials |
